ASO for Fitness Apps in 2024
How to rank for keywords when 'workout app' is dominated by billion-dollar companies.
You will not rank for "fitness app" or "workout tracker". Nike, Under Armour, and Peloton own those. You have to go niche.
Long-Tail Keywords
Instead of "Weightlifting", target "5/3/1 Powerlifting Tracker" or "Kettlebell Flow Timer". The search volume is lower, but the intent is incredibly high. A user searching for a specific routine is 10x more likely to convert than a user searching for general fitness.
Screenshot Anatomy
- Screenshot 1: The core value prop. Big text. "Log sets faster."
- Screenshot 2: Social proof. "Join 10,000 lifters."
- Screenshot 3: The hardest feature to build (e.g., Apple Watch sync, complex charts).
Do not use generic mockups with tiny text. Nobody reads them. High contrast, massive UI elements.
